SOPHIA VASAPOLLI

Sophia.jpg

Intern Instructor

Sophia was introduced to the Morgan Horse at Taylor River Farm when she was five years old, and has been active at the barn nearly every day since. As a young rider she spent time at the barn after school acting as an assistant to earn her riding lessons. Over summer vacations she would watch Richard Boúle and Sarah Gove, head trainers at Taylor River Farm, work horses, and she knew that training horses and becoming a riding instructor would be in her future.

Sophia won her first World Title at just nine years old  aboard her lifelong friend and partner, Salem Front and Center or "Gabby." Today, Gabby and Sophia teach Great Island Riding Academy’s newest riders the skills to develop a strong relationship between horse and rider, and many earn blue ribbons along the way. Her students share their appreciation for her enthusiasm, passion and drive. She lights up the indoor arena with her energizing personality when teaching riding lessons.
